Lola and Lily Hand Knit Monster
Lola and Lily love to travel and go on fun adventures. Lily gets so excited when they visit a new place that she runs as fast as she can so she can see everything right away. Unfortunately, this means that she wears herself out in the first few minutes and has to ride in Lola’s pouch for the rest of the trip. But it’s all cool as Lily can still see everything and Lola can keep track of her.
Hand knit with love by a mama who also plants rice in the rice terraces (take a look at the P20 bill to see what they look like).
Each monster is packed in a woven bag with a tag and a note about each monster’s personality— ready for gifting!
Lola and Lily are available in four colors:
- Lola in neon pink and grey stripes while Lily is a solid neon pink.
- Lola in black and white stripes with a heart on her pocket, while Lily is a light pink.
- Lola in light teal and baby pink stripes, while Lily is in light pink
- NEW Lola and light grey and white stripes while Lily is in baby pink, baby blue or avocado!
Lola measures at approximately 11 inches high and 10 inches wide (without the arms). Do remember that each hand knit monster is unique and may slightly vary in size.
Knitting Expedition was begun as a way to provide supplementary income for the women of Ifugao to maintain the rice terraces. Instead of leaving the region to find better paying jobs, they are supported by the income from the sales of the products. This allows them to stay and tend to the rice terraces that are not only an awe-inspiring legacy of their town but also of the Philippines and which has provided sustenance for generations of their families. The brand Knitting Expedition also signifies the journey of founders, Candy and Aueeie, as knitters and the distance that the hand-knit products have to travel to make it to your homes.
