Lola and Luc Hand Knit Monster
Lola and Luc love to travel and go on fun adventures. Luc gets so excited when they visit a new place that he runs as fast as he can so he can see everything right away. Unfortunately, this means that he wears herself out in the first few minutes and has to ride in Lola’s pouch for the rest of the trip. But it’s all cool as Luc can still see everything and Lola can keep track of him.
Hand knit with love by a mama who also plants rice in the rice terraces (take a look at the P20 bill to see what they look like).
Each monster is packed in a woven bag with a tag and a note about each monster’s personality— ready for gifting!
Lola and Luc are available in 3 colors:
- Neon Yellow and Grey stripes while Luc is a solid neon yellow
- Light Teal and Light Yellow stripes
- Light Grey and White Stripes while Luc is in baby blue or avocado!
Lola measures at approximately 11 inches high and 10 inches wide (without the arms). Do remember that each hand knit monster is unique and may slightly vary in size.
Knitting Expedition was begun as a way to provide supplementary income for the women of Ifugao to maintain the rice terraces. Instead of leaving the region to find better paying jobs, they are supported by the income from the sales of the products. This allows them to stay and tend to the rice terraces that are not only an awe-inspiring legacy of their town but also of the Philippines and which has provided sustenance for generations of their families. The brand Knitting Expedition also signifies the journey of founders, Candy and Aueeie, as knitters and the distance that the hand-knit products have to travel to make it to your homes.
